How Custom Carbon Fiber Parts Are Made

A suitable process starts with the application and part design. Material selection, forming requirements and machining features should be reviewed together.

Material & Laminate Review

The carbon fiber fabric, resin system and laminate specification should match the required strength, stiffness, weight and operating environment. Include an existing material specification when available.
Forming & CNC Machining

Sheet-based components can be CNC cut and drilled; shaped parts may require forming or molding before machining. The route is reviewed against the drawing, mounting features and production quantity.
Surface Finishing & Inspection

Define visible surfaces, gloss or matte appearance, edge condition and coating needs. Critical dimensions and assembly features should be included in the agreed inspection requirements.
